Hawker Siddeley Electric Africa (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Yemurai (S.A) (Pty) Ltd, is a leading manufacturer of high quality transformers and switchgear. With over 60 years experience in the industry, the Hawker Siddeley gear continues to affirm its supremacy in all the regional power utilities, including Eskom of South Africa, the Zambian power utility, Zesco and the Botswana Power Corporation. Of late our exports have extended further afield to Angola, The Democratic Republic of Congo, Namibia, Mozambique with good prospects for the West African market.
Through the years, Hawker Siddeley has successfully designed, manufactured and commissioned various types of large Rectifier Plants for electrolytic metal recovery, using saturable reactor and on-load Tap changer techniques.
